Gameplay
Changes
Few examples of the smaller gameplay tweaks that are present in the server. Some of the changes are here to limit players' abilities. These changes might on paper feel malicious or purposefully annoying, but the systems are in place to make the power curve of the server more gradual and to create new kinds of gameplay elements. Some elements of the server will bring player stats down when compared to vanilla gameplay, but because everybody plays by the same rules, the overall feeling shouldn't feel too much different from any other survival server.
Enchanting is more expensive and harder to achieve
Enchanting costs more levels. (Read more detailed explanation)
Why: Enchantments are relatively easy to achieve in vanilla gameplay, and getting "god-tier" enchants is only slightly harder than the low-level enchants, so it is usually advisable to skip the level 1 or 2 enchants. Our changes will make enchanted items rarer, and so more valuable. Even an iron sword with Sharpness II will be a greater weapon than an unenchanted Mithril sword (Diamond Sword in vanilla game). This change aims to make lower-level enchants and even completely unenchanted weapons viable options.
Ores and materials for weapons and armor are harder to obtain
Most ores and other materials are only obtainable by towns through the Rare Resources system, or from dungeons. (Read more detailed explanation)
Why: Most ores are harder to come by for similar reasons as why enchantements are more expensive. Leather and Chain mail armor in vanilla game are harder to obtain than iron or even diamond armor. making iron and mithril ore harder to obtain, leather and chain mail become more viable options. The ore limitation ensures that Mithril and Netherite weapons and armor will become luxury items, and full Mithril or Netherite armor set will be rare and striking sight.
Ores and other Rare Resources cannot be farmed in conventional methods
Rare resources that only towns can generate include things such as Raw Iron Ore, Coal, Amethyst Crystals, Redstone, and Various mob drops. (Read more detailed explanation)
Why: The Rare Resources system makes towns more valuable assets to Nations, as every town is defined by the resources they generate. It also ensures that one town cannot generate all the resources, and so trade and war is the only way to get access to more resources than what your town can generate.
Building is disabled outside your own town
In wilderness, only small amount of items are placeable and breakable, such as Ender chests and Shulker Boxes
Why: For the most obvious reason; to keep the wilderness pristine. But also to encourage players to set up or join already existing towns. The core of the server is the town & town and nation & nation rivalries and alliances, so we are limiting the viability of solo-ing the game, but at the same time, we are not totally disabling it for various reasons (Such as letting players have some gameplay elements before they join a town or when they are temporarily between towns).
Scaffolding decays over time
Scaffolding will automatically vanish in 20 minutes after placing if it's not mined before that. But scaffolding can be placed outside town claims
Why: Adventurers should keep some scaffolding with them while in the wilds, in case they fall in a hole and get stuck. But to keep the wilderness pristine, the scaffolding has to be temporary
